Leave it to two gorgeous girls from the country that brought you Spotify and Skype, to come up with an amazing app that some have dubbed the “Facebook for fashion.”  Co-creators Josephine Eskilsson and Felicia Åkerlind share, “IT’S MY STYL is the fun way to experience clothes and styles on your own terms. We’ve created a tool for you to decide which products, styles and brands you want to experience. Our focus is on you… your choices of how you want to perceive and integrate with style and fashion.” KDHamptons chats with co-creators Josephine Eskilsson and Felicia Åkerlind to learn more about their app, as well as their Hamptons summer lifestyle in this NEW Fashion Diary below.   

KDHamptons:  What inspired you to create the It’s My Styl app?

Josephine and Felicia: We created It’s My Styl when we were still in high school in Sweden. Like most young ladies out there, we began every day with the same question, “What should I wear today?” We weren’t looking for top-down advice, we wanted to hear what our friends and peers thought about our outfits and daily styles.  We created It’s My Styl to be your constant style companion and key resource when it comes to how you perceive your own sense of style, fashion and clothes.

“You can share and see what others like you are wearing, reach out to people with whom you identify, learn how they dress, why, when and for what, and to both get and give “feedback” with the community on your own style decisions.  We wanted to create a place where you, every day, can communicate through your own sense of style. Develop your style-image and view your own and others personal look and inspiration,” shares the girls.

KDHamptons: How have you found the reception of the app so far?

Josephone and Felicia: It’s My Styl is already being very strongly received…  We recently topped the Swedish app store, hitting #1 on the Lifestyle list and hit the top 10 of all apps downloaded… and our number of Instagram followers has more than doubled in the past weeks. 

KDHamptons: How are you enjoying your stay in the Hamptons?

Josephine and Felicia: We absolutely love the Hamptons! Everyone here has such amazing personal style and a great fashion sense. To celebrate our time out here we are hosting app parties and promotional events.
