“After working in the restaurant industry for 14 years and taking some time off to raise my young family,” shares Jeanne Pupura, baker at Sugar Rush Bake Shop.  “I decided to take on opening my own food business. I always have a passion for baking and cooking, and I am very fortunate to live on Long Island where there are so many wonderful farms and friuit orchards. From Spring to Fall, I can source so many fresh ingredients to put in my pies and tarts.”

Sugar Rush Bake Shop is located in Centerport Long Island, and specializes in making fresh small batches of pies, cookies, sweet and savoury tarts and much more using all natural, mostly local and seasonal ingredients. KDHamptons loves to hear from local women entrepreneurs who are building great businesses on the East End. Jeanne’s sweet pastel macarons are as delicious as they are beautiful and I’ll look forward to serving them at my summer events.

“My style and concept towards my baking is solely dedicated  to using seasonal and local ingredients when possible. It is very important  to me to help support our farmers and keep the agricultural life going .  I want to see them stay in business and continue the farming and producing of small batches of fruits, vegetables and goods that are non GMO and all natural.”
