NEW KDHamptons Party Pix: The Artists for Haiti Bash Recap!
This past Saturday was an event that left everyone feeling the love for Haiti. I had the pleasure of attending the Wings over Haiti Third Annual Hamptons Artists for Haiti Bash! Art was curated by folioeast, music by DJ Giancarlo, and catering by Beach House. Guests bought raffle tickets with prizes including dining, airplane tours, and yoga classes, and paintings were auctioned at prices unseen outside the event!
Sag Harbor artist and pilot Jonathan Glynn started wings over Haiti after flying medical supplies to Haiti in his private plane following the devastating earthquake in 2010. At first Glynn simply wanted help out once, but after seeing the difference he could make in Haiti, he decided to dedicate all of his time to raising money for his Wings over Haiti non profit. Glynn partnered with a Haitian-American high school guidance counselor and middle school teacher and opened the Wings Over Haiti School with the goal of providing education to Haitian youth.
Glynn continues to fly to Haiti every few months to boost morale and let the communities know they haven’t been forgotten. The foundation will use what they’ve learned from establishing the first school to build the second school, and the money raised at the event will help the cause.
Donate here help this incredible cause.
