KDHamptons Photo Gallery: Ten Storybook Homes of Sagaponack

SHARE

One Hamptons hobby I never tire of is photographing the gorgeous homes of the East End, especially in Sagaponack. According to Business Insider, the 11962 zip code encompassing Sagaponack was listed as the most expensive in the U.S., with a median home sale price of $8.5 million. The name Sagaponack comes from the Shinnecock Indian Nation word for “land of the big ground nuts”, in reference to the Ground Nut. A common misconception is that the name referred to potatoes which were farmed until late in the 20th century on many of the large estates in the village. As the winter season winds down, the trees bare their leaves, and you might be able to sneak a peek into some pristine properties that are typically hidden by dense hedgerows in the summer season. Here’s a gallery of some of my favorite Sagaponack properties.
