NEW KDHamptons Recipe: Chic & Easy Quiche Lorraine
Baking a delicious, savory Quiche Lorraine is one of my favorite things to do on a cold snowy day. The best part about serving quiche is that it looks fancy, but is actually super easy to make. Here’s my recipe that I just baked for the first snow of the Christmas season. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch single crust pie
6 slices bacon cooked crispy
1 onion, minced
4 eggs, whisked
1 1/2 cups milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
bunch of baby arugula
yellow cherry tomatoes
olive oil & lemon to dress the salad
Directions: Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Bake frozen pie crust in oven for about eight minutes, do not let edges brown.
Cook bacon until crisps. Crumble and set aside. Sautee onion in skillet until tender.
In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and salt. Add bacon and onion. Toss cheese and flour together in a separate bowl, and then add to eggs and mix well. Pour egg mixture into pie crust.
Bake in preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until knife inserted in center of quiche comes out clean. Let stand for 10 minutes. Before serving top with baby arugula, and cherry tomatoes drizzled in lemon and olive oil.
