NEW PARTY PIX: The 2024 East Hampton House & Garden Tour
A kick-off Cocktail Party on the evening of Friday, November 29, welcomed in the highly anticipated East Hampton House & Garden Tour. This annual event, now in its 39th year, was held at the historic Maidstone Club, ringing in the East End holiday season in style!
The Cocktail Party was well attended by local dignitaries, architects, interior designers, history buffs, home enthusiasts, and design aficionados. Distinguished guests included County Legislator Ann Welker, Town Supervisor Kathee Burke-Gonzalez, and Mayor Jerry Larsen. Homeowners – who graciously placed their houses on the tour – included landscape designer Craig Socia and Kathryn & Roger Barton. Interior designers and tastemakers included Barbara Ostrom, Faith Popcorn, Tom Samet & Nathan Wold, and Marshall Watson.
House & Garden Tour Event Chairs, James Blauvelt, Dale Ellen Leff, and Lysbeth A. Marigold were joined by East Hampton Historical Society Board of Trustees, including President Debbie Druker, Kay Allaire, Paige Daly, Jackie Mitchell, Amy Tarr, Neide Valeira, Sarah Wetenhall and Linda Willett. Special guests included Charles & Mary Jane Brock, Annette Cumming, and Jeff Gates & Mike Moran.
Steve Long, Executive Director of the East Hampton Historical Society, addressed a full house, thanking them for “supporting the Historical Society’s vital preservation and educational programs,” and cited milestones of the year, including ground breaking for a new Collections Storage Center. Special Event Chair, Dale Ellen Leff, thanked the homeowners for their generosity of spirit and acknowledged all of the trustees, benefactors, volunteers and friends that made this year’s house tour a tremendous success.
The following day, the East Hampton Historical Society hosted the 2024 House & Garden Tour, showcasing five spectacular properties that express the unique spirit of living on the East End – from Sea to Bay to South-of-the-Highway. Hailed as “the original” and longest running house and garden tour in Eastern Long Island, the tour was enjoyed by hundreds of attendees and sold out earlier than ever before in its 39-year history.
