I love visiting friends during the Hamptons holiday season to check out their Christmas tree and festive home decor. Like a fine work of art, no two trees are ever the same, and every family has traditions and ornaments that have been curated over the years that tell a story. I popped over to see what my chic pal Rita Schrager has up her Santa sleeve this holiday season at her haute Hamptons home.

Rita shares, “I usually don’t stick to one color palette, but I do like to choose a theme. I have so many ornaments from all of the different themed trees we have put up over the years. One year we had a teddy bear tree! Another was all gold….the following year was all candy canes.”

“I decided to go with a red theme this year~ just a feeling I got and went with it. Most of my ornaments are from Bergdorf Goodman. The sparkly snowy white houses are from Topiaire, on Jobs Lane in Southampton. I always get my tree at Lynch’s garden center, and lots of the home decorations are from there too. They have a huge selection to choose from, and bring in unique ornaments from the European Christmas markets.”

“What do I love most about the Christmas season? The twinkling lights that line each hamlet, decorating my Hamptons home, creating a warm and fuzzy atmosphere….and then Santa of course!”

Thanks for sharing Rita!
