North Fork TV Festival Reveals Participating Stars and Pilot Line-Up for this year's event
The 2024 North Fork TV Festival returns August 27th and 28th to celebrate the evolution of television and bring together the minds of actors, executives, writers, and directors across the industry in Greenport, New York.
Emmy-winning actor and co-star of this year’s comedy pilot winner Swipe NYC, Richard Schiff is the festival’s 2024 Ambassador for the Arts honoree. John Turturro (Severance) and Marcia Gay Harden (The Morning Show) are also confirmed to join the festivities this year. Turturro will lead a conversation on the evolution of television and Gay Harden will be presented with North Fork’s 2024 Canopy Award.
The two day event features screenings of four independent pilots that are pre-selected by a panel. This year’s line-up includes, Swipe NYC – starring Lisa Edelstein (House) – created by Sue Zarco Kramer(Comedy), The Sessions – starring R. Keith Harris (Dopesick) – created by Al Julian and Vince Eisenson (Drama), The Ladies – starring Jessica Toltzis (Your Honor) – created by Juliana Piscina(Comedy) and Typical Dan Peterson Stuff – starring and created by Scott Kruse, Josh Long, Kurt Quinn (Man Camp) (Sketch).
A lively panel with veteran television showrunners Kevin Wade (Blue Bloods) and Chris Brancato (Hotel Cocaine) will take place during the festival. Moderated by Roy Ashton of the Gersh Agency, this conversation will pull back the curtain on the creative and organizational process involved in developing and producing network and streaming content.
The winners of this year’s North Fork TV Festival pilot script competition are: Gregory Abbey for his pool shark coming of age drama, SHARK and Heidi-Marie Ferren for her Cherokee police detective drama, BACKWOODS CHIEF.
Various parties and events take place throughout the festival including a star-studded opening night event in addition to The Canopy Award Night to close out the festivities.
