The name “Olives + Elephants” holds deep personal significance for Mariano, honoring her beloved dog Olives, whose passing in 2020 inspired her journey into candle-making, while also celebrating her lifelong advocacy for elephant conservation. The olive tree’s ancient symbolism of peace, wisdom, and renewal, paired with the elephant’s representation of strength, memory, and family bonds, creates a meaningful duality that is woven throughout the brand—from the carefully curated scent profiles to the repurposable brass candle vessels.
