Photographer Drew Doggett Exhibits 'Sail: Majesty at Sea' at Sylvester & Co. in Sag Harbor
Drew Doggett shares his latest photography collection and coffee table book Sail: Majesty at Sea at Sylvester & Co. Modern General in Sag Harbor, NY. The book and artworks will be available through September 1st, with an artist reception and book signing on July 11th from 2-6pm where patrons can meet the artist in person and see this extraordinary collection firsthand.
The Sail: Majesty at Sea coffee table book and fine art print collection is an intimate look into the world of two iconic and revered racing sailboat classes, the 12-Metre and J-Class, and their enduring heritage, beauty and power as they navigate the open ocean. The large-format, 230-page hardbound book is part of Drew’s initiative to combine his passion for the sport of sailing with his desire to raise funds for blood cancer research. It is also created in partnership with Gary Jobson, renowned racing sailor, author and chairman of the Leukemia Cup Regatta Series, who wrote the foreword for the book.
Signed limited edition prints from the collection are available in a variety of sizes, with prices starting at $1,000. Open edition prints are $265. The retail price for the book is $95, and 100% of the net proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society — the perfect hostess gift for the summer season.
More about Drew Doggett: Driven by the chase for extraordinary beauty, Drew Doggett creates striking, beautifully composed fine art photographs of isolated cultures and locations around the world. Thoughtfully researched and carefully curated, each collection captures and expresses a unique story, allowing you to immerse yourself in images containing depth and background, emotion and beauty. Influenced by his background in fashion photography, Doggett’s fine art career began in 2009 with his expedition to the remote Himalayan region of Humla, Nepal. Since then, he has sought to illuminate the corners of the world only available to those purposefully seeking them. His works are often characterized by their subjects’ exoticism, isolated histories, and positions on the outskirts of the commonplace, and have been honored by institutions such as the Smithsonian Museum and sought out by designers from around the world.
