There’s nothing like summertime in the Hamptons for the equestrian scene. The world’s finest horses are showcased here from the heart-pounding excitement of the polo clubs, to the glitz of the Hampton Classic. The horses aren’t the only ones taking center stage, equestrian fashion is just as important.  Free Ride Equestrian is a new equestrian apparel brand, which modernizes the traditional look of the English rider.

Free Ride was created by Raina and Katie, two women equestrians from south Florida.  After pursuing separate careers, these two powerful women joined forces and started a one of a kind equestrian apparel line.  A passion for horses, riding, and farm life inspired them to change careers and pursue another venture.  They state, “The simple, free way of life that horses grant us, inspired us to start Free Ride Equestrian”.  After following their dreams, a successful company formed and is now becoming very popular across the country and even internationally.

The founders believed that equestrians are athletes first. Riding apparel did not evolve much over the years.  Free Ride has done a tremendous job in bridging the gap of high performance athletic wear and equestrian fashion.  Besides being fashion forward the brand emphasizes athletic performance by considering fabric, cut, stitching, texture and accessories. Designing a line of equestrian apparel to match ones athletic performance has been the key to their success.

KDHamptons  health and wellness editor Amy Linnen (above)  took the Free Ride Equestrian (FRE) line for a test drive.  “Not only am I impressed with the quality and style, I also loved the functionality and support of the pieces. I have tried on and rode in several different brands but have not experienced this level of comfort, style, quality and price point of the Free Ride brand”.

Amy is an all around athlete who has competed at the Olympic level and perfected many athletic disciplines. “I believe the better you look, the better you feel, equals the better you perform.  I feel confident when I am wearing Free Ride and it also gets lots of attention at the barn.  I recommend it to all equestrians from beginner to advance”.

The brand extends its line with accessories that are not only essential but really complete the look.  From socks, gloves, belts, and bonnets one can accessorizes their look to fit ones style.  The Flexi belt is a fan favorite and can been customized with the option of embroidery.
