Have Rosé Your Way: Rosé Piscine Made For Ice

Rosé Piscine, perfect for a day on the beach.

Rosé has been the women’s drink of choice in Hamptons for some time, but what about those situations where a chilled bottle isn’t an option, such as beside your sunny backyard pool, at the beach or aboard a sailboat?  KDHamptons has the answer: Rosé Piscine.

Made for ice.

Rosé Piscine, the first and original piscine-style rosé, has a unique flavor profile that is brought to life over ice.  The original idea began when winemaker Jacques Tranier was on vacation in Saint-Tropez on the French Riviera (Côte dAzur) when he saw the waiters serving rosé in cognac glasses over ice.

“The waiters and beachgoers simply called it Une Piscine de Rosé, using the French word for swimming pool (Piscine), said Trainer.  “Curious, I ordered a glass. On the one hand it was cold and refreshing due to the ice, but as the ice melted, it became watery, diluted and tasteless. The concept was there, but the product was missing.”

Upon returning to the winery, Traier took it upon himself to solve this problem by creating a rosé specifically to drink over ice…and this is how Rosé Piscine was born.

Rosé Piscine on and in ice!

It’s no mistake Rosé Piscine is  found in an unmistakably Millennial bottle,  which they say is inspired by the azure blue of the  Mediterranean Sea which reveals an irresistible pale pink color in the glass. The Négrette grape, known for its tough, dark skin, is indigenous to our region, South West France, and is recognizable on the nose, with hints of white flowers and roses. Even over ice, this rosé maintains its bright acidity, making each sip as fresh and crisp as the first. On the palate, Rosé Piscine is round and supple, with an exotic finish on notes of lychee.

Rosé Piscine is fun and irreverent, pairing just as well with Mediterranean cuisine as with beaches, boats, sunny days, and pools.

Cheers!
