Hamptons husband and wife design duo Austin and Jennifer Handler of Mabley Handler invite KDHamptons readers to join them at a benefit party they are co-hosting with Jennifer’s mother Cary Mabley on June 30th. It will be a fundraiser for an organization called RSVP Inc, an animal welfare group that they have been involved with for a few years, and are very passionate about supporting.

Austin shares, “We came to know them when we adopted our cat Charlie from RSVP several years ago. RSVP is much more than just an animal rescue/adoption group. They are involved in community outreach and animal welfare education, advocation, and legislation. They go into poor neighborhoods on the East End of Long Island and help take care of dogs that are left outside and are uncared for. They help provide food and shelter for dozens of dogs and hundreds of cats. They provide dog houses and pens for pets that people leave outside year round, and will often get people to surrender their dogs for adoption if they are not being cared for properly. They then nourish and rehabilitate those dogs, and make them available for adoption. They also work with schools to educate children about proper animal care, so that they will grow up knowing how to love and treat their pets, and care for animals in general. Furthermore, they work with local legislators and government officials to lobby for stronger animal welfare legislation.”

“They are a very passionate group of volunteers dedicated to caring for animals, advocating for animals, and fighting for animal rights…And we want to help support their work and their mission, and we want spread awareness of their organization and all that they do for animals on the East End of Long Island. We will also be honoring our special guest Jill Rappaport, the award-winning animal advocate, best-selling author, and network journalist for all of the work that she has done and continues to do on behalf of animals,” shares Jennifer.
