My countdown to Christmas has begun! And not only am I precisely planning my menu, I’m honestly more obsessed with planning my tablescape, ha! When it comes to holiday entertaining, I can never acquire enough new beautiful table linens. My latest discovery comes from across the pond: Setting Pretty, which is a stylish and versatile tableware business founded in London by American friends Stephanie Bloom and Julie Darwent (pictured below).

Frustrated by the lack of reasonably priced, elegant yet practical table linens and accessories, the design duo started SP to address the gap in the market and the brand is on fire! Check out my favorite green and white patterns, below, to inspire you to set an unforgettable holiday tablescape…

The most beautiful tablescapes should include unexpected personal touches that tell a story to your guests – from hand painted place cards, homemade bouquets of flowers or herbs from the garden, your grandmother’s vintage dishes or objects collected on a memorable trip. Each personal detail helps set the scene for the most memorable gathering. Co-founder Julie’s father paints personalized place cards for her table using different seasonal imagery, while Co-founder Stephanie uses homemade candy apples to adorn her place settings.

The use of pattern and color is at the core of the brand. “We have designed our first collection around a palette of colours and prints that are intended to be mixed and matched. We want to encourage our customers to be playful and bold when it comes to dressing their table. Changing the colour palette of a table is a quick and non-committal way of introducing new colours and moods to your home.”
