Vine Street Café Launches "ON THE ROCK" Late-night Craft Cocktail Hour Every Weekend
KDHamptons readers are invited to join Shelter Island’s favorite restaurant, Vine Street Cafe , for a late-night craft cocktail hour “On the Rock,” takes place every weekend from 11pm -2am. This new weekly event, featuring luxury craft cocktails for the cocktail connoisseur, will take place each Friday and Saturday night through Labor Day weekend. Vine Street Café has been heralded for its amazing cuisine and well-curated wine list for years, and now Clint Skeen, VSC’s bartender, aims to curate an inspired cocktail club with “On The Rock.”
Mr. Skeen comes to Shelter Island with six years of experience as a mixologist on the West Coast, and has trained under famous Food Network chef and Top Chef winner, Mark Hill, among others. Cocktail creations include: the signature “V.S.C.” — vodka, watermelon, St. Germaine and Aperol — served in a hurricane glass. Other newcomers to the Vine Street lineup include: “Offices of Berry, Plum and Sloe,” an intriguing combination of beach plum gin liqueur (made with Long Island beach plums by Brooklyn-based Greenhook Ginsmiths), strawberry and Prosecco, as well as the “Di Mateo,” with local old Tom Gin, Del Professore Bianco Vermouth, and orange bitters.
Vine Street Cafe has been offering a fine dining experience in a quaint atmosphere to both locals and tourists since Terry and Lisa Harwood opened the restaurant in 2003. Chef Terry works with area farmers, fishermen & vineyards and features their natural bounty on his seasonal menus where everything is created in-house. Vine Street Cafe is open at 5:00 pm Thursday-Monday all winter for dinner. Vine Street Cafe Market stocks To Go orders, as well as freshly prepared sauces, salads and other gourmet specialties.
