Southampton Inn Hosts “Calling All Halseys!” Dinner for 375th Anniversary Celebration
The Southampton Inn hosted Halsey descendants, friends, and local residents for a celebratory dinner on Thursday, July 23rd, 2015. The Historical Museum held a lineage discussion at Rogers Mansion, followed by a reception at the Halsey House. Attendees then walked to Southampton Inn’s Café OSO for a cocktail hour and farm-to-table dinner featuring fresh ingredients from Halsey Farm and The Green Thumb, two local farms run by the Halsey family. The Green Thumb provided flowers for the tables.
Dishes included chicken piccata by Chef Josue Flores fried cauliflower, sautéed green beans, corn on the cob, garden salad and a thematic chocolate and vanilla cake. Guests joined host Dede Gotthelf, owner of the Inn, in the Inn’s newly renovated ballroom and famously charming courtyard.
The Southampton Historical Museum and Southampton Inn have been working together to honor many of the founding families of Southampton with historic lineage lectures, home receptions and honorary dinners – all as part of the town’s 375th anniversary celebrations. The Southampton Inn aims to connect guests to our local community and continues to support the institutions that keep our culture alive.
