SHARE

Just because the Thanksgiving Day feast is finished doesn’t mean the holiday festivities are over. There’s so much to do in the Hamptons for families, couples, kids, and nature lovers. Here are my top picks for weekend plans:

1. Topping Rose House hosts their first annual tree lighting ceremony to celebrate the holiday season on Friday, December 6 . Local choirs and bands from Pierson Middle School and Bridgehampton High School will entertain the crowds with holiday carols, and hot cocoa and gingerbread will be served.

Location: Topping Rose House, One Bridgehampton – Sag Harbor Turnpike, Bridgehampton, NY, 631.537.0870, www.toppingrosehouse.com, @toppingrose

2. The Turkey Trot-Run For Fun will kick off on Thanksgiving Day, Nov 28th at 10 am. Organized by Keeshan Real Estate and the East Hampton Town Recreation Dept., this annual run promises to stoke the appetite for the big eating day ahead. Rain or shine! There are categories for all ages. The start location is in Montauk Circle. Race check in is between 8-9:30 at the Montauk Chamber of Commerce. There are two races – a 3 mile and a 6 mile. For registration information call the East Hampton Parks & Recreation Dept at 631-324-2417. The first 300 registered get a free T-shirt!

3. The 6th Annual Lighting of The Lighthouse will be held on Saturday, November 30th from 4:30-7PM. Enjoy a spectacular view of the lighthouse as it gets dark and the Christmas Lights are lit. There will be live music, caroling, and Santa will make an appearance! Rain Date is Saturday, December 7th. And on Sunday December 1st from 11-4pm, enjoy Christmas at the Lighthouse with Santa. Rain Date: December 2nd.
