The Black Swan Is Long Gone~ The Pink Swan Project Is What You Need To Know About Now! Take A Seat In The Fight Against Breast Cancer. Click Here To See How You Can Help.
With Breast Cancer Month quickly approaching, KDH wanted to share a great way to contribute to the fight against breast cancer, and amp up the look of your Hamptons home at the same time! The Pink Swan Project has teamed up with nineteen architects, fashion and interior designers, who have each custom-designed a one-of-a-kind rendition of the Fritz Hansen Swan Chair designed by Arne Jacobsen. The chairs will be on exhibit and auctioned off to benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Among the designers featured [many of whom are Hamptonites!] are Alexandra Von Furstenberg, Campion Platt, Chris Kraig, David Mann, D.B. Kim of PYR for Swarovski, Kelly Hoppen, Holly Fulton for Swarovski, Jamie Drake, Jonathan Adler, Julie Hillman, Karim Rashid, Kelly Hoppen, MadelineWeinrib, Margherita Maccapani Missoni, Milly De Cabrol, Nate Berkus, Simon Doonan, Vicente Wolf, Victoria Hagan and Windsor Smith
Breast Cancer Awareness Month will kick off on September 29th at Gagosian Gallery, Davies Street, in London. Elizabeth Hurley and Larry Gagosian will co-host the event. This salon exhibition presents selections from Evelyn Lauder’s ongoing series of lady head vase portraits entitled “The Salon Beauties.” Three Swan Chairs, designed by Margherita Maccapani Missoni, Kelly Hoppen and Holly Fulton for Swarovski, will be on display alongside Evelyn Lauder’s photographs.
**100% of the proceeds from the sale of the photographs will go directly to fund research projects in the UK supported by BCRF.
From London, the three Swan chairs will fly back to New York City to join the other sixteen chairs for the month-long stateside event. Starting October 1st, a weekly rotation of Swan Chairs will be on display in the impeccably curated Gagosian Shop on Madison Avenue.
The one-of-a-kind Swan Chairs will be auctioned on Charitybuzz.com. The online auction will run October 1st – October 31st, 2011.
**80% of each sale will go directly to BCRF. On October 27th, SUITE New York coprincipals Kris Fuchs & Maria Sepulveda will host a memorable evening at their Park Avenue showroom to honor The Pink Swan Project. SUITE New York’s showroom is located in the newly coined “NoMad” district, steps from Madison Square Park and the Ace Hotel. Situated on the 17th floor of a vintage skyscraper, sweeping views of the NYC skyline will serve as backdrop to the 19 completed Swan Chairs.
Evelyn Lauder will be attending the event as well as the majority of the designers. Manufacturer Fritz Hansen has generously donated all of the Swan Chairs!
Longtime Hamptonite with heart Kris Fuchs shares, “Evelyn Lauder is an inspirational businesswoman and philanthropist. Maria and I are honored to assist her and BCRF in their passionate search to find a cure for breast cancer.”
