The Southampton Historical Museums and Research Center presents several holiday exhibits this year at the Rogers Mansion to celebrate the season with family, friends, the kids, or your Christmas cupid! Check out the charming list of activities below:
PROGRAM TITLE: Southampton Historical Museums and Research Center presents “1950’s Christmas in Southampton”:
LOCATION: Rogers Mansion, 17 Meeting House Lane
DATES & TIMES: Tuesdays to Saturdays, 11:00 am to 4:00 pm
BEGINS: Saturday, November 10, 2012
ENDING: Saturday, January 5, 2013
FEE: $4 non-members, members free and children 17 and under
DESCRIPTION: The exhibit will be family oriented and will look back at some of the Christmas decorations, toys and gifts children and adults received during the 1950s. *Photographs from several Southampton family archives will be included.

PROGRAM TITLE: Hearthside Cheer
LOCATION: Rogers Mansion, 17 Meeting House Lane
DATES & TIMES: Saturday, December 1, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
FEE: $50 in advance, $60 at the door, RSVP (631) 283-2494
DESCRIPTION: Celebrate the pleasures of the holiday season at the Captain Albert Rogers Mansion built in 1843 by a successful whaling merchant. The Greek Revival Mansion will be filled with bountiful hors d’oeuvres, sumptuous sweets and an open bar.
The Music Room will be filled with holiday cheer with a piano player playing contemporary and traditional holiday songs on a baby grand piano. The parlors and sitting rooms will be festooned with garlands of fresh winter greens and flowers. Colorful antique holiday decorations can be seen on the many trees that decorate the many reception rooms in the Mansion. To order tickets please call the Museum at 283-2494.

PROGRAM TITLE: Adult Program: A 1950’s Pot Luck Lunch
LOCATION: Rogers Mansion, 17 Meeting House Lane
DATES & TIMES: Thursday, December 6, 12:00 noon
FEE: Donations Appreciated
DESCRIPTION: In conjunction with The Rogers Memorial Library, the Southampton Historical Museum is pleased to host a 1950’s Pot Luck Lunch. Remember Tuna Noodle and Green Bean Casserole or Ambrosia and Waldorf Salad. Come bring your favorite casserole or salad from the 1950’s to share with good company and visit our new holiday exhibit a 1950’s holiday as well as our holiday gift shop. Mushroom soup, rolls, punch and dessert will be served. Please call the Museum to reserve at 283-2494

PROGRAM TITLE: Children’s Program: It’s All About Angels
LOCATION: Rogers Mansion, 17 Meeting House Lane
DATES & TIMES: Saturday, December 8, 10:00 am to 12 noon
FEE: TBD per child
DESCRIPTION: For children ages 7-12 years old. Little hands are invited to join us to create simple angels from wool roving which give them a natural ethereal quality. Everyone needs an angel! Additional kits available in the gift shop. Afterwards, Adrienne Falzone will read her new book “What Is An Angel” and be available to sign copies. Refreshments will be served. Space is limited. PROGRAM TITLE: East End Home Arts Annual Cookie Exchange
LOCATION: Rogers Mansion, 17 Meeting House Lane
DATES & TIMES: Wednesday, December 13, 4 pm to 5 pm
FEE: $5 per person
DESCRIPTION: Take a break from the holiday rush and join old and new friends at the Museum’s Annual Cookie Exchange. Swap dozens of recipes and cookies. Enjoy cheese, crackers and Wine or Cider. Space is limited. Call 283-2494 to register.
