KDHamptons: What are your three favorite things about the Hamptons?
Tripoli Patterson: My three favorite things about the Hamptons are the ocean, the seasons, and the air.
KDH: You own one of the hottest galleries on the East End. How would describe the style of your shows in one sentence?
Tripoli: I try to make sure that the style of each show accurately reflects the artist that I am exhibiting.
KDH: What is your personal favorite piece of art that you own?
Tripoli: I have a painting that Rene Ricard gave to me, and I admire him as an artist and a poet. He signed it to me on the back and it reminds me of when I first met him. He’s cool.
KDH: Do you have a favorite Hamptons restaurant?
Tripoli: I would have to say that my favorite restaurant out here is the American Hotel. I always have great food there and the service is top notch. It has a great feel to it and reminds me of something old and authentic.
KDH: Is there a place that you feel is the prettiest spot in the Hamptons?
Tripoli: Anywhere if you are in the ocean. It is the greatest place to actually look back to land and see Long Island.
KDH: Which is your favorite time of year in the Hamptons and why?
Tripoli: My favorite time of year out here is actually September. Not only is September the month I was born in, but it is also a time that you can enjoy the warmth of summer with a little less of the summer chaos. Its also when the surf starts turning on!
KDH: You have surfed some legendary locales around the world~ where is your next excursion?
Tripoli: My next trip is going to be to the Caribbean side of Costa Rica!!! I have family there and there is also a heaving right hand slab called Salsa Brava that I would love to score again.
KDH: Favorite place to surf in the Hamptons [pssst! If you don’t want to share a secret spot, then just say Ditch Plains…]
Tripoli: Ok, then Ditch Plains. <lol>
