Wanna Have Drinks with George Clooney? Now you CAN....!!
George Clooney and longtime friend, bar and restaurant mogul Rande Gerber have partnered with Discovery Land Company CEO & founder Mike Meldman to launch Casamigos Tequila. “We love tequila. On the rocks, by the shot, at times straight from the bottle,” say Clooney and Gerber. In fact, tequila filled nights with friends is how Casamigos was born! “Our idea was to make the best tasting, smoothest tequila whose taste we didn’t have tocover up with salt or lime,” say Clooney and Gerber.
THE AMIGOS: It’s safe to say these men know a thing or two about toasting good times, whether with friends and family at their homes in Mexico, at Clooney’s villa in Italy, or at Café Habana in Malibu. Their tequila was always intended for personal use, to be shared with family and friends. Casamigos, named after Clooney’s and Gerber’s houses in Mexico, roughly translates to “house of friends,” and signifies getting away and spending time with friends.
“We worked on the creation of Casamigos Tequila for over five years with our MasterDistiller in Jalisco, Mexico, and conducted blind tastings with friends until we knew wegot it right,” says Clooney.
THE TASTE: Casamigos Tequila is a small batch, ultra premium tequila made from the finest, hand selected, 100% Blue Weber agaves, which are grown in the rich, red clay soil and cool climate of the Jalisco Highlands of Mexico. In their late night “research sessions,” Gerber and Clooney preferred a sipping tequila known as Reposado, a term referring to the aging period when the spirit rests in oak barrels. Casamigos Tequila will produce a Blanco and a Reposado.
“Casamigos Reposado is smooth and clean with hints of caramel, while Casamigos Blanco is crisp and clear, with subtle hints of vanilla and a smooth finish. Both are great served neat or on the rocks, mix well with everything, and are the perfect base for premium cocktails,” says Gerber.
“We talked about how this was going to be like the bottles you see in old John Waynemovies,” jokes Clooney, “where you slide the bottle down the bar, pull the cork out with your teeth, and pour yourself a shot.”
DRINKS DATE: Casamigos begins with a launch at select establishments, Discovery properties, and a 33-‐‑state rollout with the country’s most important distributors:

Here’s a fresh idea: There’s a hysterical short film about Casamigos! “It Could Happen, Please Drink Responsibly”: A short movie directed by Casamigos Tequila~ Written and Produced by George Clooney, directed by Oscar Nominee Grant Heslov of Smokehouse Pictures and starring George Clooney, Rande Gerber, Cindy Crawford and Stacy Keibler!
Loosely based on a true story, approximately one minute in length, “It Could Happen, Please Drink Responsibly” chronicles a group of close friends [aka Clooney, Gerber, Crawford, and Kiebler] who get a little too intimate and seem to have made a few honest mistakes in identity after enjoying Casamigos Tequila one evening. The film is hysterical, watch it here: Click this link to view “It Could Happen, Please Drink Responsibly”~ http://www.youtube.com/casamigostequila
