New York Fashion Week has taken over the island of Manhattan, and as any fashionista knows it is just as important to note what the celebrities are wearing in the front row, as it is the models on the runway. One of our favorite Hollywood style stars is Whitney Port, whose fun and flirty fashion sense always lands her on the trend spotting pages of the top magazines. After rocketing to stardom from starring on MTV’s The Hills and The City, Whitney segued into fashion design, which has always been her true passion. Whit’s has told KDH in the past that she likes the idea of designing for California girls with a New York twist~ which is exactly how she dresses personally!  KDH has always liked how Whitney accessorizes her looks with high/low price points and she agrees with our mandate that fancy diamonds can definitely be worn for day! Don’t you wish you could raid Whit’s jewelry box? We do! So KDH got the scoop on the starlet’s bling and how you can get the look:

On September 9, Whitney wore an olive green swing skirt, cashmere sweater and dangling Jessica Kagan Cushman brass and crystal “Urn” Earrings, only $143 [www.jessicacushman.com] at the Luca Luca Spring 2012 fashion show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at The Stage at Lincoln Center.  *KDH Fall fashion tip: Whitney is tall so she can pull off this skirt silhouette well, it won’t work well on a petite frame.

Port was also spotted wearing her sparkling Tacori diamond ring and diamond bangles to several fashion week events including the Rafael Cennamo presentation at The Box at Lincoln Center [www.Tacori.com].

“One of the last events I attended for NYFW was Rafael Cennamo‘s presentation. I actually wore one of his dresses when I hosted the American Music Awards and I loved that dress so much so I knew I had to see what he had going on for Fashion Week. The presentation was so beautiful — he makes such amazing evening wear! I love the idea of a presentation because you can take your time looking at each piece and studying the fabric, style, etc., whereas with a runway show, the designs come and go in a flash. I wore a Rafael Cennamo dress, Jimmy Choo shoes and a Giuseppe Zanotti bag. I also wore one of Rafael’s designs to the Elle event, so it’s clear that I really am a huge fan — I’m sure you’ll see me wearing a lot more of his stuff in the future. xoxo, Whit”

KDH knew that Whitney would become more than just a pretty celebrity face when we met four years ago. It’s so nice to know such a gracious and lovely girl in Hollywood~ keep building your empire Whitney!
