The long running antique show has been renamed the Black Swan Meadows and will now be operated by new proprietors Randy Kolhoff and Scott Mesnick. Kolhoff is the owner of Black Swan Antiques located on Main Street in Sag Harbor − one of KDHamptons favorite shops! Mesnick is an entrepreneur and investor from New York, both are longtime vendors and shoppers at the popular Antique show. “We both love the Brimfield market and want to share this unique experience with as many enthusiasts as possible,” says Randy.
Dealers travel thousands of miles and bring their treasures from all over the world to Brimfield three times a year to connect with the over 125,000 people who visit the Brimfield Antique Market to seek furniture, vintage clothing and their own discoveries from the past. Black Swan Meadows first show begins on Tuesday May 14th at 8:00am.
The new owners have a modern vision for the dynamic market which includes creating a more accessible and defined experience to first time buyers as well as creating logistical bridges to professional designers and store owners. “Using modern apps like Brimfield Flea Finder, Instagram and direct marketing incentives to store owners and designers we feel we can expand on the popularity of Brimfield and help to give an inside guide to buying and selling at the Brimfield Antique Market”.
The Black Swan Meadows will include a custom Shipping company, A General Store as well as a newTaco cantina, daily live auctions, free Wi-Fi, phone charging and water refill stations. “We will expand upon what is already a fun, exciting and successful market and work to create an amazing Brimfield experience, for both the casual shopper and the professional picker.”
Back in 1959, a Brimfield local auctioneer, Gordon Reid decided to establish an open-air auction, which he named Gordon Reid’s Famous Antique Show. This was the beginning of the buying and selling phenom known today as the world-famous Brimfield Antique Market.
For 60 years dealers, collectors and designers have been flocking to Brimfield Mass. To fill up their vehicles, homes and stores with antique products brought in from all points on the globe. The antique world converges on to the small town of Brimfield Massachusetts three times a year, May, July and September.
The Meadows antique field was established in the early days of the show as a popular field to sell from due to its central location at the heart of the Brimfield Antique market located on route 20, between Sturbridge and Palmer Massachusetts.
